What is a Megaflo system?

Megaflo - sometimes misspelt Megaflow, is widely regarded as the brand leader in unvented domestic water heating. Manufactured by Heatrae Sadia. Unvented systems are fed directly from the cold water mains supply.

Why would I need a Megaflo system?

The traditional domestic hot water supply system, where water is heated and stored for use, is based on cold water feed from a storage cistern to a heated cylinder that is vented to the atmosphere. The flow rate and pressure of the hot water discharged from the hot water outlets is dependent on the height of the storage cistern above the outlets. Traditionally these units would be placed in the loft.

High performance central heating In London, where many lofts have been converted to living areas, it is therefore not practical to install a storage cistern. Central heating combination boilers often have problems meeting the household demands for high pressure hot water - such as a shower in the loft. Megaflo systems offer levels of performance that are quite simply unrivalled by other systems with flow rates of up to 72 litres per minute. This means high pressure and flow rates to all taps, instant hot water and powerful showers, regardless of where the unit is placed.
